To begin with, Aashiqui 2 was surprisingly good. A successful film leaves a tough path for the sequel to follow and Aashiqui did the same for Aashiqui 2. With an immature star cast and unimpressive trailer, I wasn't expecting much from this film.

But Aashiqui 2 has proved to be more than what many of us may have anticipated. It will keep you glued to your seats till the end. It has a good plot and the story moves at a nice pace so that you will be totally involved with the film and its characters.

The film starts with a stage performance by Rahul Jaykar, played by Aditya Roy Kapur, Rahul is an alcoholic whose career is on a downfall. He goes to a bar and finds this cheap club singer Aarohi, played by Shraddha Kapoor and he finds a reason to his life, to establish Aarohi as a superstar singer and then the film is all about that.

The characterization is awesome in Aashiqui 2, there is no extra unwanted characters in this film. The film revolves around the lives of 3 to 4 people only. Aashiqui 2 is the surprise hit of 2013, like Vicky Donor was in 2012.

The acting is decent by both of the lead characters, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. Shraddha was lovable all through the film, she has got real potentials of being a great actor, but it is Aditya Roy Kapur who steals the show. Although, the lead actors are a couple of films old in the industry, they managed to look refreshing and the romance depicted between them was adorable.

The music is the USP of this film but I assure you, there is more to this film than just great music.

  1. Thanks a lot for the review. Aashiqui 2 is certainly a well made film ,although the story of this movie is mixture of other two movies from Bhatt camp namely, Sur and Wo Lamhe. Ofcourse i would like to mention that original inspiration is A Star is Born but this movie not a copy at all. Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor and played their part well like you correctly mentioned and the best thing about this movie is that they have presented perfectly that how many jealous people try to provoke and irritate celebrities to get attention. Very nice movie overall.

  2. Well, I haven't watched Sur and Woh Lamhe both. But Since I liked Aashiqui 2, I should perhaps watch them too.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

  3. But then we call it INSPIRATION from A STAR IS BORN:p..When,in childhood,i watched that movie i cried throughout the night.I was depressed to see it's end.And yeah,i've cried over it in my childhood so it didn't effect me now when i watch the remake of it:p..

Apart from it,if i talk about myself, then this kind of love is so rare.Well,i've a long long lecture on it to deliver but then i fear you may take me as misanthrope:p..

A great inspirational movie with epic classical songs.Love shreya ghoshal 's voice an at last,if the hero was a symbol of sacrifice then i must say the heroine was understanding, innocent and caring. But then it doesn't happen in reality so one must put the fantasies besides the T.v screen when the movie ends:p...
